Teenagers and Toddlers

Life with a couple of teenagers and a new baby, along with two cats and a rabbit can be a lot of fun and frustration!

Time marches onward...Why the hell do I still have a blog?

So, today I am looking at other people's blogs and envying their writing abilities. I started this blog because I thought that I would be able to keep a journal despite my many attempts at journaling - which by the way I've always thought was stupid. I thought it was stupid because I was soooo bad at it! Which of course is certainly considered a normal (?) reaction to something that we fear or can't do ourselves. All my attempts at journaling always "sounded" contrived and I never felt that I could really express what I was feeling inside. When I would read it back, it was forced and just, well, stupid. I'm not being overly critical - it really was stupid.

To the point. One of my professor's suggested that the way to learn to write well is to write A LOT! And to not be afraid of being a poor writer because you would improve. Maybe not greatly, but you would definitely improve. And what was the best way to hone my writing skills without the deadlines of school or joining the school newspaper or catching up on long over due thank you notes and birthday cards? A BLOG!!!!

This is my new start (again) for improving my writing with no consequences except for the lost time and possible embarrassment in case someone finds it on the web or I share it with someone, which I think I already have (dumb ass). If so, and you get an email alerting you to a new post on my blog, let me know if you suffer from writing anxiety, which is the only label that give to it since according to what I've read, if you are an avid reader, you should be able to write fairly well.
